Job Summary :
The Investigation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team of investigators who conduct inquiries into incidents of abuse, neglect, and exploitation involving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This role ensures the integrity and thoroughness of investigations while maintaining compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations. The Investigation Supervisor will also be responsible for managing safety drills, conducting audits, and providing ongoing training to staff to ensure a safe and supportive environment for individuals with IDD.
Key Responsibilities :
Supervise a team of investigators handling cases of abuse, neglect, and exploitation involving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Ensure that investigations are conducted in compliance with all legal requirements, ethical standards, and organizational policies.
Review investigation reports, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in findings and recommendations.
Coordinate with all regulatory bodies when necessary to ensure a comprehensive response to incidents are happening.
Serve as a point of contact for other departments, leadership, and external stakeholders regarding investigations and compliance issues.
Collaborate with management to ensure that findings from investigations or audits are addressed through policy changes, staff retraining, or other corrective actions.
Maintain case files and tracking systems to ensure timely follow-up and resolution of all cases.
Provide guidance and support to investigators in complex or high-profile cases.
Develop and implement safety drill schedules and protocols for emergency situations, including fire, medical
emergencies, natural disasters, and active shooter events.
Ensure all safety drills comply with regulatory requirements and best practices.
Oversee and monitor the performance of safety drills, ensuring that staff are trained, and participants are well-prepared for emergencies.
Analyze drill performance and incident response to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective action plans as necessary.
Provide feedback to leadership on the effectiveness of safety protocols and suggest improvements as needed.
Conduct regular internal audits to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed.
Lead reviews of organizational practices, ensuring that safety standards, reporting mechanisms, and care protocols are adhered to.
Prepare audit reports, identifying potential compliance risks and recommending corrective measures.
Support external audits or regulatory reviews as needed, ensuring full cooperation and compliance.
Develop and deliver ongoing training programs for staff on topics related to the prevention of abuse, neglect, and exploitation, as well as proper handling and reporting of incidents.
Provide training on emergency procedures, safety drills, and compliance with organizational policies.
Ensure that all staff are trained ip recognizing the signs of abuse or neglect and are aware of their reporting responsibilities.
Develop refresher courses and materials to keep staff informed of changes in regulations, safety protocols, and investigative procedures.
Maintain training records and track completion rates to ensure compliance.
Provide direct supervision and support to investigators, offering guidance and coaching to ensure high-quality performance.
Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment, promoting accountability and adherence to compliance standards.

Qualifications :
Must be 18 years of age
2 years of ID / DD experience
1 year of supervisory experience
High school diploma or GED
Ability to pass criminal / registry background checks and other required screenings
Experience with Microsoft software
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
Ability to communicate effectively and follow oral and written instructions
Ability to perform light to moderate lifting when needed
Possession of valid driver's license, safe driving record, and proof of auto insurance.
