What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Manager position at The Arc of the Quad Cities Area?
The Arc of the Quad Cities has an open position for a Behavioral Health Manager. The initial schedule for this exempt position is an 8–hour shift between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, based on the program's needs. This is a 40-hour/week position.
Someone in this position will work as needed at the administration building and other agency sites. When an agency vehicle is unavailable, they must drive their own vehicle.
SPECIFIC DUTIES: Develop and coordinate individually designed and positive behavioral support plans for individuals we serve. Analyze data to help determine where, when, and why problem behaviors occur. Observe individuals in various settings. Engage in coaching and collaborate with staff and families to improve communication, social, education, and behavioral outcomes. Maintain a caseload of individuals with positive behavior support plans monitoring effectiveness. Ensure that program documentation protocols are complied with and progress notes are entered into Therap on time using established organizational procedures. Pursue training to improve professional skills and stay current on the most recent evidence-based procedures that will prevent challenging behaviors, teach new skills that may replace challenging behaviors, prevent the ongoing reward of challenging behavior, reinforce positive behavior, and ensure the safety of people served. Attend meetings and training sessions and perform other duties as assigned.
SPECIFIC QUALITIES: BCBA or licensed clinical psychologist certification, willingness to obtain further credentials, and desire to maintain certification commensurate with treatment. One must be organized and reliable, understand federal and state regulations, and have verbal and written communication skills. They should also be able to analyze and interpret information, pay attention to detail, and be willing to learn.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BCBA or Licensed Clinical Psychologist certification is required.
- Must be willing to obtain further credentialing to provide behavior intervention services.
- Obtain and maintain in-good standing certification and commiserate with the treatment provided.
- Experience working with dual diagnosis preferred.
- Analytical skills are necessary to synthesize various clinical and social data, determine appropriate diagnoses and treatment plans, and monitor the effectiveness of treatment programs.
- Understanding State and Federal regulations relative to behavioral requirements and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Solid communication skills and openness to feedback are necessary.
- Organization and self-sufficiency to successfully perform the role.
