We are looking for a Direct Support Professional to continue this rewarding work at one of our day programs - FAVC - on our main campus.
Position Description:
- Demonstrates The Arc of Washington County's value of kindness to all through interactions with people supported, co-workers, supervisors, families, and other stakeholders.
- Completes timely and accurate documentation to include Attendance, Care Tracker, Goal Tracking and other information as required.
- Completes all required trainings on time.
- Facilitates community participation for people supported in accordance with their preferences and needs.
- Implements Person Centered Plans, Behavior Support Plans, and Nursing Care Plans and communicate progress toward goals.
- Takes good care of Arc property and that of people supported.
- Attends staff meetings as required.
- Provides identified personal care (including but not limited to: toileting, changing of adult incontinence briefs, hygiene after toileting, changing clothing as necessary, meal preparation in accordance with physician ordered diets, feeding, assisting with eating and drinking independently, monitoring and safety supervision to people supported.
Position Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Possess a high school diploma OR GED.
- Must have a valid U.S. driver's license with a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience not including time spent on a permit AND a safe driving record.
- Ability to attend new hire training M-F 8:30 am - 5:00 pm for the first three weeks and 2 days of employment.
- Ability to pass a basic reading comprehension and math test, background check, and pre-employment screenings, including a drug screen, physical, and ergonomic testing.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience supporting persons with disabilities
