Position Overview
The Development Director is responsible for developing and overseeing comprehensive fundraising and community relations programs to support the agency's mission. This includes planning and executing annual fundraising campaigns, special events, and securing corporate, foundation, and individual donations. The role also involves managing grant writing, donor relations, and recognition programs. Additionally, the Development Director leads public relations efforts, including overseeing internal and external communications, social media, and media relations. The position supervises the front desk staff, ensuring a positive first impression of the organization, and works closely with the Foundation Board and management team to support organizational goals and community involvement. Work Location: Canandaigua, NY
Schedule: Full-time; M-F 8-4; Flexibility in schedule required to meet agency needs.

Responsibilities
- Seeks new corporate/foundation funding sources and maintains relationships with current/past donors. Represents the agency in meeting with potential funding sources.
- Develops strategies for, and oversees all fund-raising activities/special events of the agency (Wine Mixer, Cruisin' for a Cause, Turkey Trot, Gift Wrap Booth, agency service awards event, Jerry Archibald Award event, etc.) including event materials, supervision of staff responsible for the event and evaluation of the event.
- Oversees editing, design, publication and distribution of all internal and external printed publications
- Oversees the front desk function and supervision to the Administrative Coordinator, Development, intervening when issues arise with staff coverage.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and over five years' relevant experience or an equivalent amount of education and experience.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills and the ability to work well with staff, participants and the public.
