Position Overview: The Employment Specialist supports individuals with disabilities in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment in inclusive workplace settings. Key responsibilities include assisting with job search and applications, providing job coaching and skill development, and ensuring workplace safety and suitability. The role involves acting as a liaison between employees, employers, and supervisors to foster communication and satisfaction, facilitating initial training, monitoring progress, and documenting outcomes to meet compliance standards. Additional duties include maintaining regulatory documentation, assisting with transportation needs, and offering follow-along interventions to promote sustained employment success. Ongoing professional development and participation in service plan reviews are also required.

While the typical workweek consists of 40 hours from 8am to 4pm, Monday through Friday, we recognize that our program needs may change from time to time. Responsibilities
- Assists individuals with disabilities in seeking and maintaining gainful employment to include job searching and completing applications as requested.
- Demonstrates proficiency in teaching skills when assisting individuals with acquiring new or additional skills. Provides instruction or guidance through one on one or small group instruction in a variety of environments while striving to achieve formal outcomes associated with and Individual's Habilitation Plan.
- At the job site, assists with initial training and setting up assigned work, as relayed by the site supervisor. Ensures the employee progresses toward meeting job expectations. May suggest further breakdown of tasks to ensure achievable outcomes.

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- HS diploma or GED required.
- Two years of providing employment-related services to a person with individuals with developmental disabilities is required.
- Valid NYS Driver's license.
