Coordinator of Faith Formation
Our Lady of the Assumption – Woodbridge, CT
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and organized Coordinator of Faith Formation to oversee the faith formation program for grades 1-8. This role is key in helping build a strong spiritual foundation for youth, young adults, and families within the parish community. The Coordinator will design, implement, and evaluate programs in alignment with Archdiocesan guidelines and parish needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement family-focused faith formation programs for grades 1-8 that align with Archdiocesan guidelines.
- Recruit, train, and supervise catechists, ensuring they are well-supported and effective in their roles.
- Manage the program’s budget, resources, and physical space to support ongoing operations.
- Oversee sacramental preparation for Reconciliation, First Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation, ensuring all students are prepared according to parish guidelines.
- Ensure the annual implementation of the Empowering God’s Children Safe Environment program for all students.
- Foster open communication with the Pastor, staff, and parish families to keep them informed and engaged in faith formation activities.
- Continuously assess and evaluate the effectiveness of programs, making adjustments as needed to meet the needs of the parish community.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s in Theology, Religious Education, or related field
- Experience: Experience in a previous supervisory role
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal; Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively; Strong leadership and team management capabilities; Advanced administrative and organizational skills; Ability to work independently and take initiative; Proficiency in budget management and resource allocation.
