This Client is a global life insurance company that has been expanding through international acquisitions. With this growth, they need a dedicated team to manage SOX compliance and Accounting Policy for the international segment. The title of this role will be Head of Financial Compliance, International Life. This role is a strong fit if you have a public accounting background and have moved from audit/assurance into technical accounting advisory. It’s also well-suited for someone with a public background currently in technical accounting at a major life insurer.
The position will start as an individual contributor role, focusing on building out the framework. As the function grows, you’ll transition into a leadership role, managing a team of up to two people.

Head of Financial Compliance, International Life.
Reporting to the Global Financial Reporting Controller of International Life, the Head of Financial Compliance will oversee SOX controls and Life Accounting Policy compliance, playing a key role in strengthening internal financial reporting controls and ensuring adherence to accounting and reporting policies. This position will work closely with local and GO Controllership, the Actuarial team, Corporate Accounting & Finance, and other key stakeholders.
This role will be instrumental in:
- Leading development and execution of the overall strategy, implementation, and compliance of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance programs at both local operation and Global Office (GO) level
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring the compliance with International Life and Corporate accounting & reporting policies and the related accounting procedures.
Qualifications:
- At least 12 years of progressive finance management experience in audit or accounting policy compliance, with a strong focus on SOX controls and US GAAP compliance in life insurance. Experience in international insurance operations and public accounting is preferred but not required.
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A master’s degree or relevant certifications (CPA, CIA) is preferred but not mandatory.
