Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. We are a Christian pre-school/ school age facility serving approximately 100 children. This role as assistant teacher will help provide quality care and education to children ages 12 months - 12 years. The assistant teacher will work closely with the lead teachers to implement curriculum development and classroom behavior management strategies.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and implementation of engaging lesson plans that meet the developmental needs of children.
- Support lead teachers in managing classroom activities and maintaining a structured environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to foster a collaborative learning atmosphere.
- Help supervise children during playtime, meals, and other activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities related to childcare and education best practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom and learning materials.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a childcare or educational setting is preferred, particularly within private schools or daycare environments.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to support positive student interactions.
- Familiarity with curriculum development processes for preschool-aged children is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when necessary.
- A genuine passion for working with children and contributing positively to their educational journey.
- Able to pass a background check.
