We specialize in Maternal Mental Health and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder but also offer a full range of counseling services, including : individual and couples therapy, play therapy for children, counseling for teenagers and young adults, military family readjustment guidance, treatment for those recovering from eating disorders and victims of sexual, physical or emotional trauma.

Our therapists honor individual differences and draw on each client's family and cultural strengths. Utilizing the most current interventions, shown empirically to be highly effective, our goal is to assist our clients to strive toward and reach their highest potential.

We take pride in our desire to help the next generation of clinicians learn and grow in their clinical skills and experiences. Our highly trained supervisory staff are ready to assist our graduate interns face the challenges and celebrate the joys of working in the mental health field.

Title : Graduate Intern

Description

General Description : Under general supervision, provides initial assessment and ongoing counseling or treatment to clients. Maintains confidentiality and ethical standards as identified by the ACA / NBCC or other relevant governing bodies. Participates in the day-to-day activities and tasks to run and maintain an outpatient private practice.

This is an UNPAID internship position.

Special Requirements

  • Be enrolled in an accredited graduate-level program in the mental health or social work field that requires a practicum or internship as a part of their core curriculum.
  • Must be for a MINIMUM of two semesters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The material and essential job duties include, but are not limited to,
  • Providing initial assessment and ongoing counseling or treatment to clients while maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards as identified by the American Counseling Association ("ACA")

  • Conducting diagnostic assessments and counseling or treatment using the current edition of criteria from the DSM-V-TR to assess mental Disorders
  • Treatment in individual, couple, family or group therapy sessions depending on client need
  • Completing necessary case record paperwork according to the department, State, Federal and insurance carrier procedures and requirements
  • Performing regular contact with PCPs and referral sources as needed and as authorized by clients
  • Participating in relevant Agency meetings, and ongoing development of professional knowledge and skills through individual and group supervision
  • Informing supervisor of significant events / issues related to clients as appropriate and follows programs defined incident reporting process as required.
  • Direct Clinical Hours include, but are not limited to :
  • Intake assessments

  • Co-counseling with another licensed therapist
  • Co-facilitating group therapy
  • Individual therapy
  • Marriage therapy, parenting-based therapy, and / or other family therapy
  • Crisis Interventions
  • Indirect Hours include, but are not limited to :
  • Attending all weekly group consultation meetings

  • Attending trainings from other Artemis staff or other provided by Artemis
  • View pre-recorded trainings essential to delivering care in Aretmis' areas of speciality
  • Complete various administrative, marketing, or research based tasks essential to running and maintaining an outpatient private practice
  • Adhere to policies and procedures established by The Artemis Center for Guidance, LLC.
  • Other responsibilities as requested by supervisor.
