What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structures Systems Manager position at The Ascent Group, Inc.?
Responsible for design and development of tracked vehicle hull structure from concept development through prototype fabrication and test. The position reports to the Director Mechanical Systems.
Essential Functions:
- Must be capable of obtaining a security clearance.
- Lead the development of combat vehicle chassis structures from derived system level requirements.
- Coordinate and prepare system and subsystem performance analysis related to structure systems including as a minimum structural integrity, and structural response.
- Coordinate efforts internally and with third party vendors to assess the survivability of the structure design against direct and indirect threats.
- Manage design and development of structure subsystems such as ramps, hatches and access panels working with the structures assigned design staff as well as other multi-disciplinary functions.
- Prepare and present design development status to management and customers.
- Coordinate design development including the management of designers assigned to chassis structure development.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in a variety of settings and be able to assimilate complex instructions easily.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff to establish productive relationships. Superior consultation, diplomacy, influencing and negotiating skills is required.
- Must possess the ability to explain complex concepts in a way that makes sense to someone less knowledgeable about the topic.
- Must demonstrate an enthusiasm to engage with and support overseas colleagues to ensure all staff have the information and opportunity to perform to the best of their abilities.
- Must promote collaboration and facilitate teamwork across the organization and its external service providers.
- Must be tactful, diplomatic, and work with integrity, honesty, and respect for others.

Supervisory Responsibility:
- The Structures Systems Manager will manage a team of 6 engineers and 6 designers. They will also lead an Integrated Product Team which is supplemented by disciplines outside of engineering.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
