Systems Business Analyst II – Financial Data Governance
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid – T/W/Th onsite)
Contract Duration: 6 months (Potential contract-to-hire)
Rate: $78/hr pay rate
Role Overview:
Join the team as a Systems Business Analyst II supporting critical system processes, financial reporting, and master data. This role will require advanced Oracle SQL skills. The analyst will manage system tickets, coordinate updates with IT, and assist with monthly financial close using PowerPlan and SAP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute month-end close tasks, including master data setup and posting transactions into PowerPlan
- Build and triage reports using advanced Oracle SQL
- Coordinate system updates and manage tickets with internal IT and external vendors
- Act as the first point of contact for business reporting needs (shared inbox triage)
- Maintain data quality and ensure process standardization and compliance
- Use tools like Jira and Rational to manage enhancements and system changes
- Work closely with cross-functional teams during user acceptance testing and approvals
Top Required Skills:
- 5–7 years of experience in systems/business analysis
- Advanced Oracle SQL (joins, subqueries, complex queries)
- Experience with PowerPlan (capital subledger) and SAP
- Financial systems background; strong grasp of master data attributes
- Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, IT, or related field
Nice-to-Haves:
- Utility industry experience
- Jira or Rational experience
- Agile and/or Waterfall methodology understanding
