The Asticou Hotel is now seeking an inspired Food & Beverage Director to join our growing team and spread Joy to our guests and staff through culinary delights!

The newly reimagined Asticou Hotel is the newest addition to Atlantic Hospitality's Acadia Collection. This historic property will be reopening this summer after an extensive $28 million renovation over the past 18 months, and will feature multiple F&B outlets and services, both indoor and out.

We are looking for a seasoned Director that has previous resort expereince, including fine dining, upscale casual, and cafe/quick service concepts to accommodate mulitple venues on site.

Job Summary:

The Director of Food and Beverage will oversee and manage the food and beverage operations across multiple properties within our Acadia portfolio. The Director will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to ensure the highest quality of dining experiences across all locations. This includes leading the food and beverage teams, providing innovative menus, maintaining operational standards, managing budgets, and ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the hospitality industry, and a proven track record in managing food and beverage operations across multiple properties.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate food and beverage managers, chefs, service staff, and support teams across multiple properties. Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and high performance within all teams.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of all food and beverage outlets across the properties, including restaurants, bars, banquets, room service, and catering. Ensure all operations align with brand standards and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Collaborate with executive chefs, culinary teams and beverage team to develop creative seasonal menus that meet guest expectations, dietary preferences, and industry trends. Ensure consistency and quality in food and beverage offerings.
  • Develop and manage the food and beverage department budgets for each property, ensuring cost control, food and labor cost efficiency, and maximizing profitability. Analyze financial reports and implement strategies to improve financial performance.
  • Maintain and enforce the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and service across all food and beverage outlets. Conduct regular quality checks and audits to ensure that food and service meet or exceed guest expectations.
  • Ensure an exceptional guest experience by overseeing service standards, staff training, and addressing guest feedback. Continuously evaluate guest satisfaction through feedback and surveys and take action to address any concerns.
  • Develop and implement training programs for food and beverage teams, focusing on service excellence, product knowledge, safety, and upselling techniques. Foster an environment of continuous learning and career advancement.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with food, beverage, and equipment vendors across all properties. Negotiate pricing, monitor product quality, and ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies, marketing materials, and seasonal campaigns to drive revenue and enhance brand presence across all properties.
  • Ensure all food and beverage operations comply with local health and safety regulations, including food handling, sanitation, and licensing. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and promote a safe working environment.
  • Ensure consistent service standards and operational efficiency across all locations. Collaborate with property managers and department heads to address property-specific needs and challenges while ensuring a cohesive approach to food and beverage operations.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the Managing Director and schedule/attend meetings with the hotel GM’s as needed.

Necessary Skills and Attributes:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in food and beverage management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role, overseeing multiple properties or locations within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning, inventory control, budgeting, and cost management.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a large team across multiple properties.
  • Proven track record in managing budgets, increasing profitability, and controlling costs across food and beverage outlets.
  • Experience with vendor negotiations, contract management, and maintaining supplier relationships.
  • In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations, food quality standards, and hospitality best practices.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective marketing and promotional strategies to drive food and beverage sales.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address operational challenges and guest concerns effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple properties simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to review financial reports and make data-driven decisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Culinary Arts, or a related field (preferred).
  • Relevant certifications in food safety and beverage management are a plus.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and oversee food and beverage operations in high-traffic environments.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as required by food and beverage operations.
  • Ability to travel between multiple properties as needed.
