The Astronauts Memorial Foundation is an organization located at Kennedy Space Center that honors and memorializes astronauts who have sacrificed their lives for the nation and the space program. Our mission is to honor our Fallen, and inspire the next generation of space explorers through innovative STEM/space-focused educational programs. We partner with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to offer education outreach, as well as commercial aerospace organizations and educational institutions to offer career pathways for students.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role, on-site at Kennedy Space Center. As an Education Specialist, you will be responsible for developing AMF's educational programs, training educators on space-related curriculum, co-planning educational and workforce related events at the Center for Space Education, and carrying out administrative tasks.
Required Qualifications:
- degree in education (bachelors or masters)
- ability to pass a federal background check
- valid driver's license
- 2 years experience in a formal classroom setting
- teaching certification
- citizen of the US
Candidates Must Provide:
- copy or proof of their current teaching certification
- work sample of lesson plan (details will be provided during the interview process)
- deliverable (NGSS aligned lesson, assigned the interview process)
Preferred Qualifications:
- fluent in Spanish
- science or engineering background (bachelors degree)
- informal classroom experience
- customer service experience
