Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, particularly in baking and pastry preparation. The Pastry Cook will work closely with other kitchen staff to deliver exceptional products that meet our guests' expectations.
Duties
- Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes.
- Ensure all food handling and preparation meets health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan menus and develop new dessert offerings.
- Package finished products for catering orders or retail sale as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting positively with guests when necessary.
- Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and report shortages to management.
- Utilize proper knife skills for food preparation tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role in a restaurant or catering environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various baking techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and creativity in dessert presentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
