Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Contract Type: Permanent, full-time, Term time only
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Actual Annual Salary: £22,906.76 - £24,782.90 depending on experience
Start Date: As soon as possible
Aurora Vincent House School
As part of our growth strategy, Aurora is really pleased to be opening a brand new SEND Secondary School in 2025 in the heart of Horsham, West Sussex for young neurodivergent people aged 11-16. Most of our students are coming to us from mainstream education to have access to an adapted National Curriculum delivered in small classes with a focus on meeting their sensory needs and support for their emotional wellbeing.
The Role:
Reporting to the School Business Manager, you will form part of our Administration Team, and your role will impact all areas of our organisation. Therefore, working collaboratively, professionally and effectively with every Department of our school carries a high level of responsibility. You will be liaising with our young people and their families as well as staff within the school and wider Aurora group. You need to have excellent communication skills and require empathy, patience and kindness.
The role is integral to creating an environment that is neurodivergent friendly and you will be expected to prioritise the safeguarding and wellbeing of our students at all times for which you will be given additional training.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide an efficient and effective Reception service dealing with telephone enquiries, greeting and looking after visitors and stakeholders.
- Organising meeting rooms.
- Following standard procedures for security of confidential data and information.
- Ensuring that the reception area is maintained attractive and welcoming.
- Prepare documents, reports and presentations as required.
- Ad hoc duties as and when required in line with role and responsibilities

Skills and Qualifications
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:
- Good level of literacy (verbal and written), and numeracy with at least 5 GCSEs 4/C or above (or equivalent) to include English and Mathematics
- Experience of working in administrative role ideally to include HR and Pupil administration and/or within an educational or care environment.
- Strong computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office.
- Accurate typing and Minute taking.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage workload effectively and multi-task.
- High level of interpersonal ability with excellent written and verbal communication.
- The ability to be discreet, confidential and reliable
- A willingness to help find the answer, good problem solving skills
- A commitment to being neuro-informed and neuro-affirmative as expected by all our staff and be able to communicate effectively with our young people and their families
