Awty International School is an international school in Houston, serving students from preschool to high school. Awty offers students a rigorous academic program leading to either the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma, the French Baccalaureate, or the French International Baccalaureate.

Position Overview
For the 2025-2026 school year, Awty International School, whose French program is accredited by the French Ministry of Education, is seeking a qualified Primary School Teacher (Professeur des Écoles) certified by the French national education system.
The school will be looking for an experienced hands-on teacher who interacts with students in a creative and innovative manner and can take complex concepts to a level the students will comprehend. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a commitment to and experience teaching in a diverse, multicultural environment.
This is a local position for teachers on detachment or availability, subject to vacancy. Note: The employer is not the Mission Laïque Française but the school's governing body (contract, remuneration, etc.).
Minimum Requirements:
- Five years full-time experience
- Bilingual in English and French
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria, listed by priority:
- Experience in French schools abroad.
- Language skills: Proficiency in English (Understanding: C1 / Speaking: B2).
- Qualifications: Holder of the French National Primary School Teaching Certificate (concours de recrutement de professeurs des écoles).
- Experience: Professional experience with young children, preferably in an international context, is highly desired.
- Additional qualifications: CAFIPEMF, CPAIEN, Temporary Host Teacher (Maître d’accueil temporaire), or EMFE.
- Strong proficiency in and use of digital tools.
- Innovative teaching practices, including flexible classroom management, would be an asset.
- A skilled, creative, and dynamic educator.
- Open-minded, curious, and tolerant.
- An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills for teamwork.
- Rigorous and well-organized.
- Sensitive to cultural diversity.
- Solid references, including inspection reports and recommendation letters with contact details (phone and email), are required.
- Proficiency in English and strong competency in the use of digital tools for teaching are required.
