The Bald Head Island Club is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Food & Beverage Director to join its leadership team. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of multiple clubhouse restaurant outlets while ensuring exceptional service, member satisfaction, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the operations of The Palms, The Terraces, The Grille, and seasonal outlets
• Lead the successful implementation of The Grille expansion and ongoing operations
• Ensure members and guests consistently receive world-class service aligned with club standards
• Partner with the Food & Beverage Director to enhance service procedures, staffing models, and profitability
• Supervise Sommeliers and assist with the Club’s wine program, events, inventory, and member orders
• Maintain a strong floor presence, providing coaching, support, and leadership to the front-of-house team
• Develop and execute training programs, including the Club's Passport Training Program
• Implement and refine standard operating procedures for all outlets
• Manage ordering, inventory, and budget compliance for beverage programs
• Oversee and improve member satisfaction survey results through proactive engagement
• Support the execution of special events and private functions across all outlets
• Ensure all health and safety codes are met and consistently maintained
• Troubleshoot equipment and operational issues as needed
• Foster strong communication between front-of-house and back-of-house teams
• Participate actively in daily operations, pre-shift meetings, and leadership initiatives
Qualifications
• 4-7 years of progressive management experience in private clubs, resorts, or luxury hospitality settings
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field preferred
• Strong knowledge of fine dining and multi-outlet restaurant operations
• Proven ability to lead, train, and inspire teams in a high-touch, member-focused environment
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, POS systems, and advanced Excel
• Relevant certifications (Sommelier, Cicerone, Bourbon Steward, etc.) are a plus
• Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Salary : $81,000 - $88,000
