Certified Dining Director
The Baptist Home is seeking a well-trained, and well-versed Director of Dining Services! We will assist the right candidate in obtaining certification if you don't already have it.
The potential candidate must be able to handle efficient management of the employees of his/her department, organize and review meal plans on a weekly basis, and represent The Baptist Home and uphold the Philosophy of Care we have, to provide for the maximum physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being of each resident.
Baptist Homes & Healthcare Ministries is an AGENCY FREE CAMPUS.
Qualifications:
1. High School diploma or GED
2. Good communication and public relations skills with residents and their families, staff, and the public.
3. Must be familiar with Resident Rights and the Division of Aging regulations in the area of Food Services and Sanitary requirements according to State Regulations.
4. Must have a basic and essential knowledge of foods and menu planning including special diets.
5. Must have a desire to, and/or be actively continuing education and training in Dietary Management, etc.
6. Obtain education and certification in Dietary Management.
7. Sufficient typing, computer, and documenting skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
1. Plan and administer the Food Services Department within the facility
2. Establish department procedures (food safety procedures, emergency procedures, etc.) for the FS Department.
3. Regularly review menus and procedures for improved food services.
4. Must participate in Care Assessment meetings with representatives of the residents.
5. Coordinate services with other departments.
6. Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the Food Services Department including, but not necessarily limited to, kitchen equipment, food storage and preparation areas and food service items.
7. Must attend and participate in weekly staff meetings.
8. Hire (in consultation with the administrator), schedule, and supervise a sufficient number of employees to operate the Food Services Department efficiently.
9. Work to control costs in the purchasing of food and overall operation of the department.
10. Determine the quality and quantity of food required, purchase foods according to planned menus and keep proper inventories of foods required by regulations is a MUST.
