The Bar Association of San Francisco is excited to be hiring for a Membership Director
The Membership Director oversees the recruitment and retention of individual members and law firm / corporate sponsor group members. This individual will work with BASF’s Member Services to develop and provide services to BASF members; maintain the membership database, manage dues invoicing; collect data and relevant statistics; conduct data and trend analysis; conduct competitive market studies and analysis; develop plans for membership recruitment and retention; and provide data to BASF departments. The Membership Director reports to the Deputy Executive Director and supervises the Membership Coordinator. This is an exempt full-time position.
Essential Job Functions :
- Develop policies and procedures for membership recruiting and retention.
- Recruit and retain members :
- Identify recruitment and retention targets and create, implement and manage recruitment and retention strategies and action plans to attract new members.
- Maintain good relationships with individual members as well as with law firm / corporate sponsor firm contact persons and group members.
- Create, implement and manage, with Communications and Member Services departments as appropriate, a creative and cost-effective marketing plan for membership that effectively markets BASF and its member benefits to existing and potential BASF members.
- Identify new and meaningful member benefits for BASF members.
- Serve as one of the primary faces of BASF that interfaces with existing and potential BASF members and regularly markets BASF’s benefits, services, programs and value to existing and potential BASF members. This includes engaging with members and recruiting members at BASF events, and planning certain membership events.
- Monitor results, collect, maintain and analyze statistics, and revise processes and plans accordingly.
- Conduct data and trend analysis and identify, create and implement solutions based on trends and in response to statistical analysis.
- Create and / or manage, in partnership with the Communications Department, membership communication / marketing tools such as the content of member pages on the BASF Web site, member brochures and other collateral, and membership cards.
