Title: Server
Reports To: Management Staff
Summary:
Provide outstanding, friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for our guests. The primary objective is to show our guests such a marvelous time that they will want to return again and again. MUST HAVE WEEKEND AVAILABILITY!
Responsibilities:
- Welcome and greet our guests. Engage them and make them feel comfortable. Let them know that you are there to take care of them.
- Inform guest of specials and menu changes and answer questions about our food, beverages and restaurant services.
- Expert knowledge of the menu and the ability to make suggestions you honestly feel they will enjoy.
- Take food and drink orders accurately and with a positive attitude. Enter these orders into our point of sale system which shares this information with the kitchen and the bar.
- Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and beverages. Take immediate action to correct any problems.
- Prepare the final bill, present the check to the guest, collect payment, process cash and credit transactions.
- THANK guests for their visit and invite them to return.
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
- Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by station assignment.
- Maintain clean service areas.
- Help bar and food preparation staff when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of food service, retail or related industry experience.
- Previous restaurant experience is preferred.
- Possess a basic knowledge of food and beverage service procedures and functions.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Able to perform high quality work with limited supervision.
- Able to handle money accurately and operate a point of sale system
- Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with customers, managers and all of the in-house staff.
- Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
- Able to working in a standing position for long periods of time, up to 9 hours.
