Shifts: Flexible Hours/Days – Must be able to work some evenings, weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday), and holidays.

Green River Distillery is located in Owensboro and is the 10th oldest distillery in the state producing more than 90,000 barrels of bourbon and rye for its own brands and partners. Position Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Visitor Experience Intern to provide outstanding customer service to every guest who visits the Visitors Experience at Bardstown Bourbon Company. The successful candidate must be able to work efficiently in a high-paced setting. Must be able to work in a retail setting as well as assist with the setup, breakdown, and organization of our tour experiences when needed. A passion for working with the public and an exemplary work ethic are required. At the conclusion of this 3-month internship, the individual may have the opportunity to join Bardstown Bourbon Company as a Visitors Experience Team Member. 

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Greet each guest upon entrance of the retail shop. 
• Keep retail shop stocked and tidy. 
• Efficiently use the POS system, as well as making daily deposits.  
• Keep Manager informed of items that are low in stock. 
• Ensure that the Experience Room for the Visitors Experience is clean and completely set up for tour groups 
• Restock the Experience Room with class materials and glassware 
• Execute tour prep, which includes, but is not limited to, cleaning tasting glasses, glassware, and tasting trays/tables after every class
• Responsible for resetting the Experience Room after each use 
• After tour, clear the Experience Room of all food items, put glassware in dishwasher, dry glassware, and prepare the room for the next tour group 
• Must be willing to learn Bardstown Bourbon Company’s distillery and Tasting Room practices and products 
• Must be willing to learn Green River Distillery Tasting Room practices and products
• Help in the set-up of Green River Louisville Tasting Room
• Maintain highest health standards, sanitation and cleanliness in the Tasting Rooms to meet local, state and government health guidelines 
• Willing to participate in continuous training and educational opportunities at both locations
• Commitment for the Company’s ISO program including the quality and food safety of our products.

Desired Qualifications

• Current college students majoring in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field 
• Previous experience in customer service a plus 
• Ability to speak and write English fluently 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
• Ability to multi-task 
• Basic computer skills 
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Frequently required to stand and walk for at least an hour at a time; occasionally sits 
• Reaches, bends, and stoops frequently  
• Ability to kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, taste and smell 
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. 
• Must be able to determine wait time based on Visitors Experience procedures  
• Frequent washing of hands 
• Occasional exposure to fluctuating temperatures indoors and outdoors 
• Mobility to climb stairs with tray containing glasses
