Shifts: Location hours are currently Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00am – 6:00pm. Flexibility to work other days/hours for special functions and holidays as needed. Schedule is subject to change based on customer demand.

Position Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Visitor Center Assistant Manager to provide an excellent guest experience for our new downtown Louisville location. This will be a key role in the marketing and management of the Green River Distilling Company Louisville experience. This new position will be responsible for ensuring the guest experience meets brand direction and exceeds the expectations of all visitors. This role will manage, support, and lead an hourly team and mixology team whose focus is on providing a unique and super premium brand experience for guests of Green River Distilling Company in a brand-new satellite location. The role will be involved with goal setting and tracking, using analytics to improve operations and measure performance. The Lou GRD VE Assistant Manager will help maintain and operate a safe, responsible, and compliant environment for our guests and employees. The Assistant Manager will foster excellent team morale and an inclusive culture for our employees across this new satellite location in downtown Louisville. This position reports to the Visitor Experience Manager for Green River Distilling Company Louisville Tasting Room.

Position Responsibilities

• Support activities designed to develop one-of-a-kind guest experiences, aesthetically pleasing retail area, beverage interaction and events for our consumers and VIP guests at the Green River Distilling Company-Louisville. Operate under a hospitality-first mindset, create a warm, welcoming, inclusive, end-elevated experience for all guests.
• Provide oversight of our entire satellite Visitor Experience including our Guest Services & Tasting Experiences, the Retail Operation, Cocktail Experience, Trade/Media/VIP Experiences, and external and internal events.
• Assist in the staffing and management of approximately eight hourly employees.
• Leads manager duties for any after-hours events, running events and closing the space after their conclusion.
• Seeks ways to identify and implement synergies between our homeplace in Owensboro.
• Develop goals and objectives in collaboration with the VE Manager.
• Responsible for opening and closing procedures, cash handling, managing deposits along with the VE Manager.
• Responsible for the online booking program, credit card/cash management process and serves as the primary point of contact with the online booking software provider.
• Drive performance of team members and create a culture of teamwork and enthusiasm for providing a superb guest experience.
• In VE Manager’s absence, schedule visitor experience employees and review timecards for accuracy. Provide tip report for payroll.
• Create a weekly schedule for Visitors Experience Representatives in VE Manager’s absence.
• Ensure employees are well-trained in their roles and cross-trained. Support continual development and longer-term career goals.
• Must be willing to take the company-paid course and become a certified Stave & Thief Executive Bourbon Steward.
• Commitment to the Company’s ISO program including the quality and food safety of our products.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ work experience in a hospitality environment.
• Minimum one years’ leadership experience.
• Experience in a bourbon related hospitality environment highly desirable.
• Strong communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of bourbon/cocktails desirable.
• Ability to lead multiple employee types with strong mentoring, and coaching skills.
