Working Days and Hours:

The Shoppe is open Sunday-Saturday from 7:30am - 7pm. Ideally, this is a 5 day / 40 hours per week. However, this is a salaried position which requires the General Manager to work if and when needed (including weekends) with some flexibility.

General Description

Role Description and Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for the overall direction of the facility which includes pet care, client care, facility maintenance and administrative duties in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Duties include;

Team Management

  • Demonstrate symbolic leadership by being a professional and an example for the team.
  • Lead by example and maintain accountability for company policies and procedures by documenting, writing and delivering corrective actions when necessary.
  • Provide support and guidance to team members where necessary.
  • Monitor staff performance related to execution of service to expectations. 
  • Oversee performance of new staff & annual performance reviews. 
  • Set concise goals for the team and hold them accountable by offering feedback and training where needed.

Drive Company Growth and Strategy

  •  Proactively support company mission and customer service standards
  • Create, maintain operating procedures and monitor for effectiveness.
  • Oversee proper use and maintenance of equipment in assigned areas.
  •  Oversee client service issue escalations in a manner that maintains the company's reputation.
  •  Ensure effective communication flow throughout business, ie Clients, staff and management.
  • Prioritize and complete duties within the overall business goals
  • Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
  • Analyze data and prepare regular reports for Senior Leadership, anticipating market changes to adjust marketing and pricing strategies
  • Perform basic accounting functions, such as daily cash flow, bank deposits, and P&L statements
  • Develop and adhere to budgets, financial goals, sales goals for growth
  • Foster a positive and safe environment for pets, pet owners, and employees. 
  • Promoting a positive brand image within the stores and in the community.


Person Specification

Working Experience and Education Requirements:


  • Works well in a fast-paced team environment
  • Has 4-5 years experience working in a supervisory/management role within the service industry (i.e. hospitality, salon or spa management, medical, etc.). Pet services industry experience is a plus!
  • Proven experience of driving a successful  
  • Available to work weekends
  • Being bilingual is a plus
  • Must know how to manage and read a P & L
  • Must know how to manage labor budget


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Loves dogs and cats!
  • Comfortable working with pets of all ages, size, and temperament
  • Holds a genuine and sincere interest in pets’ individual needs
  • Must have experience with salon scheduling POS system
  • Must have experience in forecasting & labor management
  • Proficient with the use of Office Software/ Tech Savvy
  • Good Communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Conflict Resolution and Management skills
  • Must be Reliable and Dependable
  • Experience with using data and creating reports in sales & marketing platforms to make data-driven decisions

Salary and Benefits:

$62,240.00 annual salary
