What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wine Runner position at The Battery?
The Beverage warehouse helper will perform a wide variety of activities related to the receipt, inspection, processing, storage, inventory maintenance of wine storage locations with distribution and deliveries to service stations. Beverage warehouse helper is responsible for all functions and paperwork relating to receiving and restocking. He or she will operate basic machinery including pushcarts, dollies in a safe and proper manner. Receivers must effectively and properly use standard procedures for receiving all products entering and leaving the storage locations including verifying actual product against packing slips, confirming product integrity. They must initial, code invoices, prepare requisition sheets, and distribute to appropriate departments with keeping inventory count. Beverage warehouse helper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of storage areas including breaking boxes and put them in the recycling bin. A main focus will be to organize/maintain storage area, label and rotate on a daily basis.
This job is appropriate for an entry level wine professional looking to learn how a large wine program is run. After successfully completing a period of training/study, this wine team member would be looked at to pick up shift on the floor and advance in the company.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Receive and process delivery acknowledgement receipts.
- Verify receipts and deliveries against purchase orders to ensure live inventory accuracy
- Perform follow-up procedures on orders, and report damages, shortages and discrepancies.
- Maintain storage maps and restock bottles storage locations accordingly. Reports and or resolve errors and discrepancies.
- Maintain a variety of related files, maps and records.
- Receive, store, organize and rotate stock utilizing proper storage methods and procedures.
- Load and unload deliveries from receiving dock when necessary.
- Maintain storage areas, wine cellar and warehouse equipment in a neat, clean, orderly and safe manner.
- Perform periodic inventories; recommend items for re-order to maintain necessary materials and supplies on hand.
- Organize glass, cardboard, trash for nightly recycling.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must have and be able to do all of the following:
- At least 18 years of age.
- A high school education or equivalent.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English comprehensively.
- Basic math skills.
- Must hold valid Responsible Beverage Service certification.

- Heavy member/guest contact is required.

Hourly Pay: $23
