We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Lube Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the lubrication, maintenance, and servicing of equipment and machinery used in a sawmill environment. The Lube Technician will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently and safely by regularly maintaining and lubricating machinery and components according to a set schedule.
- Primary Duties:
- Perform scheduled lubrication of sawmill machinery, including conveyors, saws, hydraulic systems, and other heavy equipment.
- Apply lubricants to gears, bearings, motors, and other moving parts to ensure proper functioning and reduce wear and tear.
- Monitor lubricant levels and replace fluids in hydraulic systems, gearboxes, and other machinery as needed.
- Inspect machinery and equipment for wear, damage, or leaks, and report any issues to the maintenance supervisor.
- Ensure all lubrication systems are functioning correctly and adjust as necessary to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of machinery.
- Maintain detailed records of lubrication schedules, maintenance performed, and any issues encountered.
- Use hand tools, grease guns, and other equipment to apply lubricants to machinery and parts.
- Assist in identifying and resolving lubrication-related mechanical problems.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of lubrication supplies and materials to maintain safety and efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and best practices when performing lubrication tasks and maintenance activities.
- Follow company policies regarding the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to reduce hazards.
- Work closely with the maintenance and operations teams to minimize equipment downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
- Assist in general maintenance tasks, including basic repairs and adjustments, as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a maintenance or lubrication role, preferably in an industrial or sawmill environment.
- Familiarity with lubrication techniques, equipment, and systems used in industrial machinery.
- Ability to use basic hand tools and lubrication equipment.
- Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of industrial machinery and hydraulic systems.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow maintenance schedules.
- Knowledge of different types of lubricants and their appropriate applications.
