Position Summary: The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role involves interpreting blueprints and technical diagrams, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and troubleshooting electrical issues to ensure optimal functionality of electrical systems. The Electrician will work independently or as part of a team, collaborating with other trades and contractors to complete projects efficiently and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Primary Duties:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components.
- Read blueprints and technical diagrams to plan electrical installations.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues, utilizing diagnostic equipment as needed.
- Comply with all local and national electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members and other trades to complete projects on time.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Secondary Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including installation details, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Document any modifications made to electrical systems for future reference and compliance.
- Provide guidance on the use and maintenance of electrical systems and appliances.
- Assist in training apprentices or less experienced electricians by sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Monitor and manage inventory of electrical supplies and parts, ensuring tools and materials are organized and readily available for use.
- Order necessary materials and supplies to meet project timelines.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of job sites and equipment to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
- Participate in safety training and meetings to stay updated on best practices.
Required Skills:
- Valid electrician's license and relevant certifications.
- Proven experience as an electrician in relevant settings.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and safety protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
