- Regularly works in standard classroom conditions and climate. Frequently performs some duties such as walking classes or supervising student arrival or dismissal outdoors in varying weather conditions and climate.
- Regularly uses close and distance vision. Works at a computer screen for extended periods. Ability to observe students from various distances.
- Frequently required to move around the classroom and to work at a desk for extended periods of time. Often positions oneself to work with small children on the floor, frequently moves around campus
- Ability to occasionally move items up to 30-50 lbs. across the classroom
- Ability to work in a very busy and highly involved environment
- Ability to periodically work additional hours to support before and after-school or weekend events
- Speak and write Spanish fluently
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Spanish, language instruction, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
- Have experience teaching Lower School and world language courses (other relevant experiences will be considered)
- Demonstrate a passion for teaching, fostering student growth, and exploring world cultures
- Demonstrate strong professional relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Knowledge of world language pedagogy and child development
- Proficiency with technology, including iPad, learning management systems, and basic G Suite for Education (Google) tools
- Experience in an independent school is preferred
