Housekeeper

The Berkeley Retirement Home and Nursing Center is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join our team. The Berkeley is where people work together to make great things happen every day. We offer a pleasant, friendly and clean environment to our residents. We are a 19 bed Nursing home and 21 bed Retirement Home.

Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing
• Perform bathroom cleaning including toilets, walls, sinks and doors
• Ensure all rooms and common areas are cared for and inspected according to standards
• Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate
• Maintains a high level of cleanliness & safety throughout designated areas
• Ensure that all equipment is clean and always working condition
• Removal of trash & soiled linens.
• Ability to use proper chemicals on surfaces and follow infection control guidelines
• Must be experienced at cleaning with a keen eye for details
• Must be able to work as a team member
• Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds
• Able to work every third weekend on a rotation schedule after a 90-day probation period.
• Able to work holidays

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a cleaner or housekeeper
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
• Integrity and ability to work independently
• Previous experience in commercial or residential cleaning is a plus
• Must be Reliable and Keep to a Schedule
• May Need to Work a Varied Schedule, as requested
• English Speaking

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
