Overview:
We are currently seeking a Business Development Representative to join our dynamic team in Birmingham, AL. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong sales background, established relationships with large companies, and a passion for supporting the BBB’s mission to assist small businesses. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter, able to thrive in a goal-oriented environment, and work effectively to build and maintain relationships with accredited businesses in the Central and South Alabama region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Make a minimum of 50-60 calls per day, with at least 5 presentations per day to prospective clients via phone.
- Achieve a goal of 15 new accredited businesses per month within your assigned territory.
- Develop new business accounts and maintain existing relationships with Accredited Businesses (ABs).
- Collaborate professionally with support departments and team members to meet company-wide goals.
- Consistently meet minimum standards for business development activities, including call volume, talk time, sales, and retention.
- Build and sustain relationships with Accredited Businesses (ABs) after closing sales, ensuring year-round communication and satisfaction.
Additional Duties:
- Perform tasks as requested by the BBB senior leadership team.
- Maintain and adhere to timelines for sales and administrative tasks.
- Attend BBB staff-related events as necessary.
- Continuously adhere to the BBB Standards of Trust and Core Values.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance, promptness, strong time management, and attention to detail.
- Go the extra mile to ensure success and client satisfaction.
- Deliver world-class customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Actively contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Proactively seek personal development and sales improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills in English
- Proven customer service and sales experience
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
- Experience in B2B sales and telemarketing
- Proficiency with CRM software, particularly Salesforce
- Familiarity with business development and outbound calling strategies
- Negotiation skills and experience in technology or inside sales

Pay: $52,000.00 - $76,000.00 per year
