Position Overview
We're seeking a dedicated Sales Consultant to join our team during nights and weekends. This role is distinct from our intake specialist position and requires a unique blend of sales expertise and compassionate client service.
Understanding the Client Journey
Intake Specialist Role (Initial Contact):
- Receive initial calls from potential clients
- Gather preliminary case information and details
- Qualifies leads based on practice areas and geographical location
- Refers out or closes cases that don't fit our practice areas
- Create detailed case notes in Lawmatics (our CRM system)
Your Role as Sales Consultant:
- Takes qualified leads from intake specialists
- Provides in-depth consultations
- Converts qualified leads into retained clients
- Coordinates with managing partners for complex cases
- Maintains strict adherence to ethical guidelines regarding legal advice
- Utilizes attorney support when legal expertise is needed
Key Responsibilities
- Provide detailed consultations to pre-qualified leads during nights and weekends
- Convert qualified leads into retained clients through empathetic and professional consultation
- Close appropriate cases independently (after training)
- Coordinate higher-level case consultations with managing partners
- Maintain detailed records in Lawmatics CRM
- Follow established SOPs for client consultation and case evaluation
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance sales and consultation skills
- Work collaboratively with intake specialists and attorneys
- Follow up with potential clients and maintain communication throughout the sales process
- Strictly adhere to ethical guidelines regarding legal advice

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the criminal justice system or legal sales
- Background in criminal defense or law enforcement
- Previous experience in consultative sales
- Knowledge of the New Jersey criminal justice system
- Experience with CRM systems (training provided on Lawmatics)
