JOB SUMMARY:
The Mechanical Engineer provides engineering support for the Bionetics Defense Engineering Services Group (DESG). Serves as a technical resource to design, develop, analyze, and evaluate mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, subsystems and components. This position requires a self-starter who is self-motivated with a strong desire to support, learn and participate across multiple projects and programs.
Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in mechanical engineering
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills
- Must possess good interpersonal, organizational and prioritizing skills
- Demonstrable work history within a fast paced, demanding engineering work environment
- Competent with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Must be able to qualify for and maintain a secret security clearance
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform mechanical engineering analysis and evaluation of systems, subsystems and components
- Development of technical documents, work instructions, procedures and action plans
- Perform verification, validation and troubleshoot electrical, electronic and electromechanical assemblies and subassemblies
- Perform mechanical analysis, design and simulations on products using Computer Aided Design Automation (CAD) engineering tools and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) including dimensioning and tolerances and where applicable apply machining principles and techniques
- Provide necessary technical support and interface for reporting requirements, documentation, design reviews and engineering support services
- May develop and integrate new technologies and processes into current designs, evaluate and resolve interface problems between subsystems or subassemblies, define corrective action, and measure goals
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Lifting/Moving Requirements – up to 50 pounds
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Normally works in an environmentally controlled work area.
- Frequent and prolonged computer use may be required. Some work will be in a manufacturing, repair, test, assembly environment where possible exposure to electrical, chemical and mechanical safety hazards are present.
- Must be able to travel up to 70% of the time to support customer needs.
