We have an immediate need for an Director of Memory Care at The Blake at Edgewater.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with providing organizational structure and ensures effective and efficient dailyoperations within the wellness department.
- Actively advocate for superior care and promotes service excellence.
- Ensure that the community meets all Federal and State guidelines and requirements.
Education/Experience/ Licensure/Certification
- Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
- CPR, First Aid
- Must be flexible and prepared to assist on a variety of shifts
- Promotes a positive, respectful, and supportive environment for all residents, co-workers, families and guests.
- Assists in the welcome and orientation of new residents. Ensures all admission documents are complete, accurate and received within company time frames.
- Wears an identification badge and adheres to the company dress code.
- Practices excellent time management skills and completes tasks according to the residents’ service plans.
- Participates and represents the Memory Care Neighborhood during daily staffing meetings. Ensures effective communication occurs between wellness and memory care employees assigned to different shifts.
- Ensures a structured, daily activity program is implemented by the Walk With Me Coordinator. Assigns activity programs to Personal Assistants per shift and participates in leading resident engagement programs.
- Maintains state and federal regulations and actively participates during regulatory surveys and reviews as requested by the Director of Wellness and/or Executive Director.
- Responds to state requests for information within the state required time frames. Immediately notifies the Executive Director regarding any federal, state or local agency request(s) for information.
- Adheres to the Resident Bill of Rights and promotes dignity and respect among all residents and care givers.
- Leads and/or attends in-service and monthly staff meetings.
- Meets all state training requirements to maintain the position of Director of Memory Care.
- Maintains working knowledge of fire and disaster plans and has working knowledge of their own responsibilities under emergency conditions.
- Reports to work according to schedule and company policies, including severe weather situations.
- Expands personal development, skills, and knowledge of activity programs as it relates to older adults with moderate to severe memory impairments in a long-term care setting.
- Maintains a current and organized filing system for the MC Department.
- Orders and is responsible for controlling expenses of Medical supplies, durable medical equipment, and engagement supplies/vendors.
