What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Swim Coach position at The Boar's Head Resort?
Boar's Head Resort is now accepting applications for 2025 Jefferson Swim League Head Swim Coach to join our Sports Club team! As the head coach, you will be responsible for supervising the assistant swim coaches and motivating children ages 5-18 years of age to participate in swim practice and compete on the JSL team.
Some essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
- Supervision of assistant coaches.
- Plan practice drills.
- Prepare swim meet lineup.
- Assist in preparing and keeping swimmer records.
- Maintain meet entries, swimmer time boards and a list of swimmers who miss each meet.
- Prepare and post motivational games and challenges for the team.
- Prepare swimmers and staff for meets.
- Interact with parents.
- Collaborate with the Aquatics Supervisor and Director of Sports and Wellness to complete administrative tasks.
In order to be considered, you must meet the following requirements:
Essential
- Advanced knowledge of swimming skills and competition.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with children of all ages.
- Ability to attend all practices, meets and functions.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to help motivate participants.
- Ability to communicate well with adults.
Desirable
- Strong background in competitive swimming.
- Previous experience as a swim coach/teacher.
- Training in water safety (i.e. Lifeguard, Basic Water Rescue, etc.)
