Job Summary
The Buyer/Planner plays a key role in optimizing the supply chain for the Beverage Industry. This position collaborates closely with the Product Management, Sales, and Customer Service teams to develop and implement effective supply chain strategies. The Buyer/Planner is responsible for forecasting, inventory management, and procurement strategies that drive cost savings, enhance efficiency, and support the company’s sales and profitability goals.
This role requires a proactive approach to inventory planning, purchase order management, supplier coordination, and risk mitigation to ensure optimal stock levels and seamless supply chain operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Analyze sales trends and market data to develop accurate forecasts that maintain optimal inventory levels.
Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and key suppliers to ensure timely production schedules and on-time deliveries.
Review purchase order requisitions, release purchase orders, and manage order changes and follow-ups.
Monitor inventory levels to prevent stock-outs while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
Oversee inventory management at off-site locations and subcontract vendors.
Stay informed on external market conditions, including supply chain disruptions, governmental regulations, logistics challenges, and commodity cost fluctuations.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Identify and resolve supplier nonconformance issues.
Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects within the materials planning function.
Evaluate forecast accuracy, reconcile significant variances, and refine forecasting models.
Education & Experience Requirements
3–5 years of experience in buying, planning, or supply chain management within a relevant industry.
Global procurement experience strongly preferred.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
SAP experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to exceed performance targets.
Experience presenting to and interacting with senior management internally and externally.
Understanding of Supply Chain best practices.
