The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimize our supply chain operations at our site in Vegas. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing and improving the end-to-end supply chain process, ensuring the timely delivery of products and services while controlling costs and maintaining high-quality standards. You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, inventory control, logistics, and forecasting, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Supply Chain Strategy & Management: Develop, implement, and drive effective supply chain strategies that align with TBC’s goals and projects. Oversee the entire supply chain process in Vegas, including procurement, inventory management, warehousing, logistics, and distribution.- Vendor & Supply Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms to ensure the best value. Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery schedules, or other operational concerns.
- Inventory Control & Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet construction/mining demand while minimizing excess stock. Implement inventory tracking systems and practices to improve visibility across all sites in Vegas and prevent stockouts.
- Logistics & Distribution: Oversee the logistics and distribution operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers. Coordinating with distributors for deliveries to sites. Monitor and optimize warehousing and distribution processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Forecasting & Demand Planning: Develop accurate demand forecasts and ensure alignment with production and procurement planning.
- Process Improvement & Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain operations and reduce costs with Operations teams on site.
Basic Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Materials, and/or Supply Chain Management
- Experience: minimum 5-7 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or procurement, with at least 1-2 years in a lead or managerial role.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement improvements.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with Construction, Operations, and Engineering teams, suppliers, and executives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership Skills: 3-4 years leading and growing teams in a rapidly changing environment.
- Prior experience as a Supply Chain or Purchasing Manager in a Construction environment.
