As key member of the Make Progress (MP) team, the Community Life Manager provides leadership to the Community Life department in creating transformative residential community that fosters personal growth and equips clients to achieve independent living goals. Ensures a safe, welcoming, and trauma-informed environment. Supports consistent standard excellence in hospitality and physical safety, including fire safety and crisis intervention. Utilizes a mentoring/coaching approach to ensure client adherence to Community Life Guidelines and Client Agreement. Coordinates and oversees client Work Therapy assignments. Fosters effective and supportive collaboration with the Clinical Services department, Facilities, Logistics, and Volunteer Services. As needed, assumes campus leadership responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure daily effective practices that foster a safe, welcoming, healthy, and caring living environment.
- Supervise and conduct hourly security rounds and safety checks.
- Ensure updated Activity Schedule is posted, communicate updates to clients, and encourage participation.
- Train staff on TBM mission goals, and value; general program operations; scheduling; safety measures; coaching; conflict resolution; confidentiality; etc.
- Lead client House Meetings, Make Progress team meetings, Community Life staff meetings as needed.
- Interact positively with clients to encourage and model healthy relationships, boundaries, and choices. Model skills for de-escalating and resolving conflict.
- Provide individual and group client support to live in community and build independent living skills.
- Oversee client Work Therapy assignments, ensuring completion of weekly schedule, attendance, and proper client training and supervision.
- Collaborate with Volunteer Services, Sustain & Grow alumni services, etc. to achieve positive outcomes for special client events and activities.
- Ensure census and client data is accurately recorded after every shift, including Community Life notes, shift notes, client medication usage log, and incident reports.
Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday: 7:00am-3:30pm (Sunday & Monday Off)
Requirements:
- Embrace the organization’s Statement of Faith.
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, hospitality management, or other relevant area preferred or a combination of education and experience.
- 4 years coordinating or supervising in a residential program or similar setting. Proven experience in team leadership.
- Fostering residential community that is Christ-centered and client-focused.
- Team leadership. Security and safety standards. Confidentiality standards.
- Ability to develop and implement clear staff procedures.
- Trauma-informed care in residential settings.
- Coaching, conflict resolution, and reporting skills.
- Ability to identify building/facility needs.
Preferred:
- Certified in Mental Health First Aid.
- Certified in Non-violent Crisis Intervention.
- Motivational Interviewing.
- First Aid/CPR and F-80 Fire Safety Certification.
Salary commensurate with relevant education & experience: $62,000-$65,000 per year.
