TITLE: Development Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Resource Development

HOURS: 40 hours/week (8:00am-5:00pm, M-F)

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Development Coordinator at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Magic Valley is responsible for supporting fundraising efforts, cultivating donor relationships, and ensuring effective communication with the community. Key functions include assisting with event planning and donor stewardship. The role also involves building partnerships with local businesses, recruiting and managing volunteers, and managing the donor database. The coordinator works closely with the executive team to support program initiatives, track impact, and contribute to strategic goals, while also providing administrative support to ensure the smooth execution of fundraising and outreach activities.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

_ Fundraising Strategy & Campaigns_

  • Assist in the creation and implementation of fundraising strategies to meet organizational goals, including annual campaigns, major gift efforts, and special events.
  • Donor Acquisition & Retention: Focus on attracting new donors while nurturing relationships with existing ones to ensure sustained support for the organization.

Donor Relations & Stewardship

  • Cultivate Donor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors to foster long-term giving and engagement.
  • Acknowledge Donations: Ensure timely and personalized recognition for donors through thank-you letters, donor reports, and special events to reinforce positive relationships.
  • Provide Impact Reports: Regularly communicate the impact of donors’ contributions, showcasing how their support is making a difference.

Event Planning & Execution

  • Coordinate Fundraising Events: Plan and execute fundraising events such as galas, golf tournaments, other fundraisers throughout the year, or community outreach activities, ensuring they align with the organization’s goals and budget.
  • Volunteer Management for Events: Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for events, ensuring smooth operations and engagement.

Marketing & Communications

  • Social Media & Digital Outreach: Use digital platforms to promote fundraising campaigns, events, and organizational updates, engaging current and potential donors.

_ Database & Record Management_

  • Donor Database Management: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date donor database, ensuring proper tracking of donations, communications, and engagement history.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Monitor fundraising progress, generate reports, and analyze donor trends to guide future development efforts and strategy.

Community Outreach & Partnerships

  • Community Engagement: Represent the organization at community events, conferences, or networking opportunities to raise awareness and expand the donor base.
  • Volunteer Management

Strategic Support

  • Collaborate with Leadership: Work closely with the executive team and board of directors to align fundraising efforts with the organization’s strategic goals and mission.
  • Provide Development Insights: Offer feedback and recommendations based on fundraising data and donor engagement to help refine and adjust resource development strategies.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Director of Resource Development and Director of Advancement to interpret and explain organizational mission, program objectives and standards, discuss issues, and provide/receive information. Prepares donor engagement report to board. Creates a sense of urgency and positive tension to support change.

External: Maintain contact with external stakeholders, including donors, community members, corporate sponsors, foundations, volunteers, and peer organizations. These communications are focused on building relationships, raising funds, promoting awareness, and ensuring the organization’s mission and impact are clearly communicated to the broader public.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one to two (1-2) years of fundraising and/or non profit experience
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, self-starter able to prioritize and execute multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be Microsoft Suite proficient
  • An enthusiastic, professional demeanor and positive, can-do attitude with desire to provide excellent customer service
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong planning, time management, and follow-through skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Must hold a valid driver's license, have a reliable vehicle available daily for work purposes and show current automobile insurance
  • Evening and weekend work is sometimes required
  • This is a full-time, non-exempt position

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time, some light to moderate lifting may be required at times. The ability to see and respond to unsafe situations. Must be at least 23 years of age in order to apply.
