Key Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership :
- Serve as the primary instructional leader for elementary teachers and, when needed, middle school teachers.
- Collaborate with teachers to ensure the delivery of high-quality, student-centered instruction.
- Provide support, coaching, and evaluate teachers throughout the school year.
- Organize and lead professional development throughout the year, ensuring that teachers have ongoing support and opportunities for growth as directed by the Head of School.
- Assist in the implementation of curriculum and instructional strategies.
Student Discipline & Supervision :
Oversee student discipline for both lower school and middle school students as necessary.Ensure that school policies on behavior and discipline are enforced consistently and fairly.Supervise students throughout the day, ensuring a safe, orderly, and positive school environment.Program Oversight :
Manage and oversee key school programs, including but not limited to :AthleticsPSIAAfter-school enrichment programsField tripsSchool EventsStudent attendance and substitute managementEnsure that all programs align with the school’s mission and educational goals.Communication & Collaboration :
Serve and lead on various committees, such as curriculum, safety, and school improvement teams.Communicate and collaborate with the school counselor to ensure the well-being of all students.Play a key role in departmental meetings, including Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and faculty / staff meetings.Maintain open lines of communication with faculty, staff, students, and parents to foster strong relationships and collaboration.Prepare and communicate report cards and progress reports to parents and guardians in a timely manner.Leadership in Absence of Head of School :
Serve as the direct report and main point of contact on days when the Head of School is not present.Make decisions and manage school operations in alignment with the Head of School’s vision and goals.Budget & Resource Management :
Oversee and manage a portion of the school’s budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for various programs and initiatives.Ensure that funds are used appropriately to meet educational and operational goals.Additional Responsibilities :
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Head of School.Act as a key partner in strategic planning and decision-making processes.Flexibility is essential, as this role will require working extra hours outside of the regular work week, including some weekends.Serve as a key member of the ISAS reaccreditation team.Qualifications :
Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, or proof of enrollment in a Master’s level Educational Leadership program from an accredited university.At least three years of proven excellence inside the classroom required.At least two years of school leadership experience preferred.Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional practices, and educational best practices.Proven experience in student discipline and behavior management .Exceptional written / oral communication and interpersonal skills , with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including students, parents, staff, and board members.Strong organizational skills , with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.Ability to lead by example , inspire staff, and foster a positive school culture.Must be adaptable and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.Skills :
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office and / or Google Suite, Student Information Systems, etc.High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with integrity.Work Environment :
The Associate Head of School will be based on campus and must be available for school events, occasional board meetings, and parent interactions as required.Other occasional evening or weekend hours may be necessary.Physical Demands :
Position sometimes requires physical effort. Example : Setup of equipment for events. Position sometimes involves travel to meetings with individuals / organizations.Salary and Benefits :
