Job Summary
Racquet Sports Professional is primarily responsible for facilitating coaching/lessons to all demographics and playing standards within the TBC membership while continuing to elevate and promote all TBC racquet sports programming and event while using their skills and expertise to positively affect all facets of day-to-day operations.

Racquet Sports Professional is primarily responsible for facilitating coaching/lessons to all demographics and playing standards within the TBC membership while continuing to elevate and promote all TBC racquet sports programming and event while using their skills and expertise to positively affect all facets of day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities
- Available to work evenings and weekends.
- Available to string racquets but not required.
- USPTA/USPTR certified w/5.0 playing level.
- Assist the Racquet Sports Head Professional (RSHP) in duties that pertain to the Junior Tennis Program. This includes handling/setting-up all club equipment for the junior program, breaking it all down, and returning it to the storage shed.
- Provide tennis lessons to adults and juniors as required – expected weekly on court hours to be 30 hours of teaching for full time employees.
- Assisting the RSHP with the junior program if needed.
- Work closely and collectively with the Briar Shop Attendants to best serve the needs of our membership. Answering phones, responding to emails, booking courts/lessons, and general service in The Briar Shop daily.
- Assist the Director of Racquet Sports with all events such as Pro-Am, Member-Guest, and other Club events.
- Visible at all events and tournaments.
- Assisting the Director of Racquet Sports/RSHP/Assistant DRS and working productively with other professional staff members regularly.
- Attending staff meetings when scheduled and actively participating in team building activities.
- Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the tennis facility and surroundings. Focus on monitoring the grounds for tennis balls, trash, towels, faults with facility (windscreens/furniture/electrical etc.). The tennis facility should be reflective of TBC’s high standards, and the Pros are expected to uphold and contribute to these standards.
- Must always be ready on the court before the lesson. Always on time.
- Must always look professional, no baggy clothing, non-approved colors, must always stay within uniform.
- At no point will she or he discuss work-related subjects with members. Always supportive of each other.
- Will always conduct themselves professionally in the club. Will not use the club for their own personal use.
Optimal Traits:
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Basic POS, Microsoft Office, email proficiencies.
- Comfortable with contacting members regarding racquet sports programming.
- Ability and willingness to work as a collective group for the betterment of the department and programs.
- Possess a passion for teaching/coaching racquet sports and generally helping others.
- Driven to continue education through USTA; USPTA; Higher education institutions.
- Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the tennis facility and surroundings.
Education/Training/Experience:
- USPTA or USPTR certification (Elite preferred).
- 5 years of coaching experience (private club-setting is preferable).
- High School Diploma: College degree preferred.
- Experienced player through junior/college/professional tennis.
- Current 5.0 player rating or comparable skill level.
Compensation: To be determined based on experience.
