JOB TITLE: Director of Health Services
REPORTS TO: Director of Finance and Human Resources
DIRECTLY SUPERVISES: None
STATUS: Full-time, Salary, 40 hours/week, Exempt, 11 Month Contract
JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Health Services will treat students for medical issues, administer approved medications, help prevent physical issues and disease, and coordinate routine health assessments. The Director of Health Services will play a critical role in partnering with Head of School, School Administration, and the School Board.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES (Including Physical Function)
Physical Abilities: Maintain physical ability to complete all essential functions and activities of the position. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Technological Skills: Proficient in Excel and Word, Google Suite, and FACTS software a plus.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES (Including Physical Function)
- Responsible for early detection of physical problems and health evaluations
- Develop, implement, and monitor health care plans and emergency plans for students and staff
- Responsible for disease prevention and professional treatment of students
- Promote programs on health education and immunization
- Maintains clinical records and all State of Texas requirements, including immunizations
- Conduct vision, hearing, and spinal screening and health assessments
- Provide direct health care, emergency first aid care, medication administration, and related health services according to State laws and School Policies
- Responsible for maintaining current knowledge and implementation directions of CDC, State of Texas, and County requirements and guidelines
- Address the physical, mental, emotional, and social health needs of students
- Coordinates implementation of First aid/CPR/AED training and an immunization clinic
- Attend all Staff meetings and Staff retreats as available and/or needed
- Knowledge of School policies and procedures
- Knowledge of CDC, State of Texas, and County Health guidelines
- State of Texas Immunization Requirements
- Strong desktop computing skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail, organization, and the ability to multi-task
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program
- Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas
- CPR certification
- Certified in vision, hearing, scoliosis, and acanthosis nigricans screening preferred
