Description
Responsible for running and adjusting or repairing the Knitting Machines, ensuring that they are running and in good condition for maximum efficiency. Makes minor repairs and adjustments on other equipment such as sewing machines and the linking machine.
1st Shift
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Sets-up, runs and monitors machine operations to insure maximum machine efficiency.
- Inspects products and adjusts as needed.
- Track and weigh greige shells for input into data collection system.
- Troubleshoots and repairs equipment issues.
- Notify supervisors or repair staff of mechanical malfunctions.
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Enters daily transactions and prepares outgoing greige shipments.
- Trains others in specific functions.
- Adhere to and reinforce safe work practices.
- Initiate, adhere and reinforce Lean manufacturing practices.
- Ability to multi-task and work within a team to meet Production Targets.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Secondary Functions & Responsibilities:
- Moving material and filling in on forklift operation when required.
Competencies, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read schematics.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
- Able to converse in Spanish a plus.
- Basic computer skills
Requirements
Education & Experience
- High School diploma or GED
- Experience working in a manufacturing setting operating equipment.
- Experience using basic hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.)
- Basic math including addition, subtraction, knowledge of fractions and use of a calculator, scale and ruler.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing a plus
- Experience operating knitting machine a plus
