What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Financial Officer position at The Bridge Family Center?
The Bridge Family Center is looking for a Chief Financial Officer. This is a wide-reaching position that will direct and perform overall financial and accounting functions for the agency, as well as oversee the IT and Mental Health Outpatient Clinic fiscal operations.
The Bridge CFO attends all Board meetings and prepares and presents monthly financial statements for the Board. This position works very closely with the Executive Director in preparing the annual budget for the organization, as well as budgets for State and Federal grant applications, municipal and foundation applications. The CFO oversees annual audit requirements and 5500 submission, and presents the audit report to the Board of Directors.
Candidates for this position must have a Master’s degree (MBA preferred), plus a minimum of least seven (7) years of experience in a senior management position that involves supervision of staff accountants, payroll, IT, and third-party billing, preferably in mental health services. Must also have a proven depth of knowledge in non-profit accounting principles and internal controls, as well as experience managing government contracts.
The Bridge is looking for an experienced leader with a strong work ethic and sense of humor, who will work well with the Bridge Leadership Team. This person needs to be able to think outside the box and be willing to listen to the leaders of the organization to understand the needs of the programs, while maintaining budgetary limitations. Should be able to work together to problem-solve to find a solution.
The Bridge is looking to make a decision on a candidate by the beginning of April 2025 and have the candidate start in the position by May 2025. The incoming CFO will have time to train with the current CFO prior to her retirement at the end of June.
Please note that this position is located at the Bridge main office in West Hartford, CT. It is an in-person position.
