Job Pay Range: $18.00-$39.00 per hour inclusive of hourly pay rate service charge*
$18.00-39.00 per hour based on: $6.00 per hour base wage service charge commission paid per shift; historically, this position averages service charge commission earnings of $14.00-37.00 per hour. Service charges are commissions and will fluctuate based on events and time of year.
This position always earns at least the current Colorado minimum wage of $14.81.

What you will be doing:
- Supervises and coordinates all service staff assigned to their event/function.
- Oversees all banquet-related functions as assigned, handling any emergency requests that may arise.
- Oversees the banquet room floor plan and the coordination of bar staff to meet guest/client expectations.
- Prepares event staffing assignments to include set up, reception, bar service, tear down, and sidework.
- Conducts preshift meetings with service staff at the start of each shift. Communicates and reviews all relevant event/menu details, inspects staff uniforms and grooming, and reviews staffing assignments.
- Requisitions equipment as needed to ensure adequacy of equipment provided at functions.
- Monitors and orders par levels of all beverage products and supplies as needed.
- Assists and supports service staff in food and beverage service and presentation.
- Maintains close communication with Banquet Management, the administrative team, and fellow captains to ensure consistency of services and quality of operation.
- Works closely with catering and conference managers to ensure all details are addressed and staff flawlessly executes each function.
- Introduces themselves to the client contact and/or meeting planner at the start of their shift and works closely with contact or meeting planner throughout event to ensure client expectations are met and exceeded.
- Resolves all client/guest complaints within the scope of your authority and escalate situations to banquet and hotel management when relevant or necessary.
- Works closely with other hotel departments such as Culinary, Stewarding, I.T., AV, and Convention Services (Banquets Set Up), to address all potential issues, challenges, and concerns that the client may have.
- Records all relevant group/event information, staffing issues or mentionable highlights, equipment issues and billing notes into daily captain’s reports.
- Responsibly manage and maintain an assigned cash bank.
- Create, review, and process accurate client billing in InfoGenesis POS system.
- Maintain full knowledge of current food & beverage banquet menu offerings and associated allergens and dietary notes.
- Assists and supports department trainers with service staff new hire and ongoing staff training.
- Assists and supports banquet administration with annual service staff reviews.
- Embraces, practices, and enforces Forbes 5 star standards of food & beverage service at all times.
- Maintains professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
- Maintain knowledge of, abides by, and enforces Colorado State Liquor Laws.
- Follow all safety and security policies, reports any suspicious activities, and Lost and Found items to maintain a safe workplace.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

What we are looking for:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Certification:
- Current TIPS certification or completion of TIPS certification through the Broadmoor.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- The employee is occasionally required to lift/pull/push up to 100 pounds.
