Job Summary :
The Laundry / Housekeeping Supervisor at Broadview Center is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laundry and housekeeping departments, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards are maintained across the facility. The supervisor will lead a team, provide training, and ensure that all laundry, cleaning, and maintenance tasks are completed efficiently, professionally, and in accordance with company policies and health regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervision & Leadership :
Supervise and train a team of housekeeping and laundry staff, ensuring they follow proper cleaning and laundry procedures.
Assign daily duties, set priorities, and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support team development.Ensure proper use and care of cleaning equipment and laundry machines.Laundry Operations :Oversee the cleaning, sorting, and organization of all laundry items, including bed linens, uniforms, and towels.
Monitor the laundering process to ensure the proper chemicals, water temperatures, and procedures are followed for optimal results.Maintain inventory of laundry supplies and order replacements as necessary.Housekeeping & Sanitation :Supervise housekeeping staff in cleaning patient rooms, common areas, offices, restrooms, and hallways, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards are met.
Monitor and enforce infection control practices and safety standards.Perform routine inspections of the facility to identify areas needing attention.Inventory & Supply Management :Maintain inventory control for cleaning supplies, linens, and laundry-related products.
Ensure that adequate supplies are on hand to meet operational needs.Health & Safety Compliance :Ensure all staff adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and laundry equipment.
Participate in regular safety training sessions and updates to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.Communication & Reporting :Provide clear and timely communication with facility management regarding department needs, issues, or concerns.
Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation related to laundry and housekeeping activities, including maintenance requests, inventory levels, and staff attendance.Qualifications :
Education : High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in housekeeping or laundry operations preferred.Experience : At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a housekeeping or laundry environment, preferably in a healthcare or large facility setting.Skills :Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of cleaning techniques, laundry processes, and sanitation standards.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to cleaning and laundry services.Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift, move, and carry heavy loads (up to 50 lbs).Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals and equipment.Working Conditions :
Full-time position with some evening, weekend, and holiday shifts required based on the facility's needs.Work is performed in a healthcare or similar facility environment where exposure to cleaning chemicals and environmental factors may occur.
