Job Title: Accounting Manager
Classification: Exempt/Manager
Reports To: Assistant General Manager

Primary Job Function
The Accounting Manager oversees all property level financial and accounting operations to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with corporate and regulatory standards, and effective management of the property’s financial resources. This role involves leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills to manage a team and collaborate with department heads.
Essential Job Functions
Accounting & Financial Management
- Supervise and manage all accounting functions, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, credit, and cash handling.
- Help to oversee the reconciliation of all bank deposits and credit card accounts.
- Review and process tax-exempt transactions, including maintenance of exemption records and compliance with local tax regulations.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all property-level accounting and financial records.
Leadership & Team Development
- Collaborate with department heads to establish and enforce financial best practices.
- Conduct regular audits of financial transactions and processes to ensure compliance with internal controls and company standards.
Operational Support
- Manage and process property level payroll, tip-outs, and other employee-related payments.
- Oversee petty cash funds, ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation.
- Respond to billing inquiries and disputes, maintaining accurate records of credit card authorizations and chargebacks.
- Ensure accurate coding of invoices and posting of daily payments, deposits, and refunds.
- Assist with budget preparation and capital expenditure projects, providing financial analysis and recommendations.
Guest Services & Administrative Tasks
- Address and resolve guest billing inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Oversee lost-and-found shipping processes and guest-related financial transactions.
- Support the sales and marketing team with customer billing, contracts, and payment processing as needed.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations.
- Maintain accurate records for internal and external audits, ensuring the hotel is prepared for scheduled and surprise audits.
- Proactively address financial risks, implementing policies and procedures to mitigate potential losses.
Qualifications
- Education: Training or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in hotel operations preferred. Will train someone who has accounting experience in another field.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software in working with multiple systems including hotel management systems. Strong Excel skills are important.
- Other Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must.

Pay: $38,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
