Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Global Director of Finance for our client, a highly regarded, international nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing solutions for climate change! This is a wonderful full-time, direct-hire opportunity to join an inspiring and mission-driven team in San Francisco, CA. This role is hybrid (1 day / week in office).
The Global Director of Finance is a key strategic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of finance, budgeting, auditing, and financial compliance within the organization. Reporting to the CEO, this position plays a crucial role in ensuring financial integrity and operational efficiency across the organization’s global offices. The director will collaborate with senior management and external stakeholders to drive financial success and sustainability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Leadership : Contribute to the organization’s strategic vision, supporting financial alignment with the organization’s goals, and ensuring long-term financial sustainability.
- Accounting and Compliance : Oversee all financial activities, including accounts payable / receivable, payroll, revenue recognition, tax returns, audits, and cash flow management.
- Team Leadership : Lead a diverse, high-performing finance team, ensuring effective collaboration and compliance with nonprofit accounting best practices.
- Systems Implementation : Enhance and manage financial systems, ensuring internal controls, quality assurance, and seamless use of accounting software (Intacct).
- Grants & Contracts Management : Review and oversee budgets for proposals and contracts valued over $300,000, managing associated risks.

COMPENSATION
This position offers an excellent benefits package and a competitive salary range of $215,000-$240,000 commensurate with experience.
This full-time position is based San Francisco, CA, in office one day per week, four days remote.
