Overview
Under the general direction of the Director/Assistant Director of Risk Management, the Insurance Coordinator/Risk Analyst is responsible for the organization, coordination, and administration of the Interfaith Medical Center (IMC) Risk Management and insurance programs. This involves a variety of complex and technical support which includes the investigation and processing of liability claims, evaluation of policies, and responding to inquiries regarding IMC liability claims.
Responsibilities
- Understand and adhere to IMC performance standards, policies, and behaviors.
- Initiate and support the coordination of insurance renewal activities.
- Serve as a liaison with insured parties on all insurance coverage including medical malpractice, property, and casualty programs.
- Identify and evaluate risk exposures and develop risk resolution strategies.
- Collect, evaluate, and distribute relevant data concerning patient/employee injuries.
- Maintain statistical trending of losses and other risk management data.
- Manage and analyze the Quantros incident reporting system.
- Performs related duties and special projects as required.
Qualifications
Experience:
- 1 to 2 years of Risk Analyst experience.
- 1 to 2 years of Insurance experience.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in health-care administration, or related area is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Mathematical and analytical ability.
- Ability to constantly manage competing priorities.
- Must be able to adapt in a high stress environment with frequent interruptions.
- Constantly operate computers and other office equipment as required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office to include Excel, and Word.
- Good interpersonal skills a must.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Involves standing, walking, and talking.
Frequent sitting for extended periods of time.
- May include some repetitive motions.
Perform other duties as required.
