Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing - REQUIRED
- Master’s preferred
- Three (3) to five (5) years Emergency Nursing experience
- Three (3) to five (5) years progressive leadership experience.
- Current New York State License as a Registered Professional Nurse
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Current Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) Certification Highly Preferred
- Knowledge of guidelines of the regulatory bodies - The Joint Commission, Department of Health and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.
- Assessment skills
- Ability to make safe judgement calls.
- Strong communication skills for in-servicing the staff
- Excellent customer service skills, responsible for meeting deadlines, punctual.
- Effective written and verbal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, manage multiple priorities.

Job Description
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the operational management of the Emergency Department in collaboration with physician leadership. The Nurse Manager provides clinical and administrative leadership for the Emergency Department and assists the Senior Director of Nursing with supervising nursing staff. The position requires the Nurse Manager to participate in the strategic planning for the department and ensures all operational areas are clean, safe, and compliant with all clinical regulatory guidelines. The Emergency Department Nurse Manager has accountability for nursing services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
