Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Bar Manager with a passion for beer, wine, and spirits to elevate our beverage offerings. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of craft beers, new and old world wines, and premium spirits, along with the creativity to design and implement a standout drink menu. You’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of the beverage program, ensuring top-notch quality, service, and consistency, as well as managing the bar team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive beverage menu featuring a balanced selection of beer, wine, and spirits that align with our culinary offerings and brand identity.
- Curate seasonal drink menus, including signature cocktails, specialty wines, and craft beer selections.
- Oversee ordering, inventory, and cost controls to ensure profitability and efficiency.
- Train and mentor bar staff on product knowledge, service standards, and drink preparation techniques.
- Work closely with our culinary team to create drink pairings that complement our menu.
- Ensure compliance with all state and local liquor laws and regulations.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bar area.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, new products, and competitive offerings to continuously enhance the beverage program.
- Open and close the restaurant to management’s standards.
- Cash handling & safe reconciliation.
- Establish relationships with locals and regulars and assist with client retention.
Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an upscale restaurant setting.
- In-depth knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits, with a strong understanding of beverage trends and emerging products.
- Excellent attention to detail, especially regarding drink preparation, presentation, and consistency.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to train, develop, and inspire the bar team.
- Proven ability to manage inventory and control costs.
- Outstanding communication skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
