JOB SUMMARY
The Brownwood Hotel and Spa in the Villages, FL is seeking a diligent Hotel Houseperson who will keep our hotel looking its absolute best. You will work with a team of cleaning professionals and may be assigned to different shifts each week. Our ideal Hotel Housekeeper has a keen eye for detail while handling vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and sweeping duties. Our hotel staff prides itself on providing outstanding hospitality to our guests, and your housekeeping services are a significant part of this. Candidates with prior cleaning experience are preferred, but we are willing to train hardworking people who are team players.
This position requires a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. Local candidates preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Performs cleaning duties in all guest areas and back of house.
- Consistently offers professional, friendly, and engaging service.
- Ensures housekeeping departmental standards are followed.
- Responds timely to guests’ special requests for miscellaneous items like cribs, cots, extra towels, etc.
- Maintains inventory of necessary supplies.
- Reports necessary maintenance items.
- Follows departmental policies and procedures.
- Follows all safety and sanitation policies
- Assists other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests.
- Performs additional duties as needed.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of residents, tenants, and/or guests.
- Sufficient ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English to complete work efficiently, effectively, and courteously.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Education sufficient to read, write, and speak as needed for the job.
- Outstanding customer service skills to be considered for the position.
- Prior hotel experience is preferred, but not required.
PHYSICAL ENVIORNMENT
- Prolonged periods standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at times.
